How To Buy A Tie

By Victor Santerino

Knowing how to buy a suit is a great start to any career. However, it is just a start and a few other areas need to be addressed as well.

I wrote this article to help men complete their wardrobe by buying a nice tie. After reading this article you will know how to properly buy a tie.

The material on a good tie should be 100% silk. Polyester ties look cheap and are not to be substituted for a nice silk tie. This material can be found by checking the tag on the back of the tie before making your purchase.

Always remember that you need to choose a tie which can reach the top of your belt when tied. Also keep in mind that the front needs to extend further than the back of the tie.

The perfect width on a tie is around 4 to 3.5 inches in length. Variance between these widths are a matter of personal preference.

The elasticity of a tie needs to be considered wisely when choosing a tie. Make sure the tie can bounce back to shape after you have wrinkled it some.

Choose both a pattern and color that aligns well with what you currently have in your closet. You will need to have a minimum of one suit and shirt that matches the tie or it will be useless.

As always thanks for reading this article. Bookmark the page and come back to it as often as you find it necessary. - 16747
