How To Buy A Prom Tuxedo

By Victor Santerino

Besides finding a date, buying or renting a tuxedo is the hardest part of going to prom. This is because as a teenager you have probably never even had to wear a tuxedo yet.

I wrote this article to shed some light on the tuxedo acquiring process. You will learn about the important basics such as colors, measurements, and some other issues you need to know about.

First, you need to decide the source of your prom tuxedo. I recommend that you do not borrow one from a neighbor, friend, brother, or parent. These people will probably not be an exact match when it comes to measurements and you may look silly.

The first thing to do after deciding to purchase or buy is to get proper measurements taken. Make sure to get numbers for your neck, waist, chest, inseam, and arm length.

Wearing a black tuxedo is the best way to fit in with the rest of the prom attendants. Choosing a color like dark blue or charcoal gray to be subtle or something like white or purple will make a big statement.

The vest will need to match your dates dress in terms of color. Achieve this perfectly by bringing a swatch or even the whole dress to the place you rent or buy your tux from.

Accessories can be difficult to put on for a newbie. Make sure you pay careful attention to what the sales person is saying when he gives you instructions on putting items like studs and cuff links onto your shirt.

When renting make sure you get to the rental vendor as soon as you know your prom date. You need to get your tuxedo before the other kids rent the best ones first.

You are now prepared to make your way to the tuxedo shop in confidence. Place this page in your bookmarks and you will never go wrong. - 16747
