Beware Angel Stevens Process at Home Scam

By Jess Ray

Process At Home offers a rebate processing certification program, a simple data entry work from home opportunity for those looking to supplement their income. The work appears to be simple data entry involving filling out rebate forms for major companies. It all seems simple enough but the truth of the matter is that this is not more than a deceptive, all be it clever, spin on affiliate marketing. Let me explain...

When you begin to go through the Process At Home training you are shown how to set up accounts with services such as Pay Dot Com, Pay Pal, Blogger, Ezine Articles and Google Pay Per Click.

Your first step is to go through Pay Dot Com, a third party affiliate service, an select a product or products that you would like to work with. Utilizing both free and paid marketing methods, such as Google pay per click, US Free Classifieds or blogging, you then "drive traffic" to the sales page of the product you selected initially on Pay Dot Com to promote.

Now, in your advertising, you offer a rebate for X number of dollars as a way to generate a sale over someone who may be advertising the product at full price. But you are paying the customer the rebate, not the company or the person who is selling the product. The rebate is a portion of your commission if you were to make a sale. Process At Home has taken the basic principle of affiliate marketing, a legit way to make a living from home, and created this "rebate processing" program around it. You do not need any sort of credential or certification to be an affiliate marketer.

So, not only are you tricked into thinking that you will be employed and have a job as a rebate processor, you are left with poor training as well. Process At Home barely provides the education needed to generate sales with affiliate products. The fact that they are suggesting Google Pay Per Click, an expensive and very tricky from of online advertising is absurd. You can find equal if not better training for free from Commission Junction, another third party affiliate service available to online marketers.

As if this was not enough, Process At Home's entire program is based on a direct violation of the affiliate terms and services. It states clearly in the fine print of the user agreement you clicked yes to that you will in no way alter or manipulate the pricing of the products you are going to promote.

Finally, the rebates themselves, how the heck do you process these rebates? Process At Home's instruction is to set up an account with Pay Pal in order to keep track of your sales and rebates. By the way, this is the "simple form" they show you on the sales page, how clever. So, what the means for you, is that for every sale you make, you have to keep track of the sale as well as any product guarantees offered by the seller. What happens when a customer returns a product that you issued a rebate for? You got it, you lose not only the sale but the money you gave them for the rebate. Its a lose-lose situation.

So after all of this, you are probably wondering...is any of this legit? All I want to do is work from home on my computer a few hours a day and get paid for my work, Is that too much to ask?

Sure, it seems like that should be an easy thing to find and I hate to burst your bubble, but those jobs are few and far between. I know there is advertising all over the net, you probably get at least 2 emails a day telling you otherwise. Trust me, traditional J-O-B's are hard to find online. If you are able to find one that is legit, know that you will be treated not as an employee, but as an independent contractor.

These jobs can include those where you cover a territory, as an insurance sales person or selling consumer products, for example, and you would then spend time traveling and some time in your home office. Other job descriptions may involve customer service, recruiting, writing and telemarketing. Most of these positions are part-time and commission based such as:

*Online Tutor

*Virtual Administrative Assistant

*Paid Surveys

There are many more, these are just a few suggestions.

So, if becoming self employed appeals to you, then you will be required to organize your time effectively and find ways to market your skills to those in need of your services.

So, what does all of this mean? In a nutshell, it means that you need to learn internet marketing. What is internet marketing? It is a skill of using the internet, both paid and free, to market you and your business, what ever that may be, to those looking for your services.

"How do I learn internet marketing?" Anywhere and everywhere. Just "google" internet marketing and you will be amazed at the information you will find. There are Ebook, ECourses and physical information products galore on the subject. You can even go to your local bookstore to find information on internet marketing. - 16747
